Training your children
to handle personal finances is probably the last thing you’re thinking
about in terms of their formal education. Chances are you have your own
worries in this area! But if you don’t train your children, who
will? Let’s face it, the majority of us received very little training in
personal finances when we were growing up. Most of what we know has come
through the school of hard knocks where the tuition is painfully
expensive. This workshop will give you practical advice you can
immediately apply to your financial situation and equip you to teach sound
biblical financial principles and stewardship to your children.

Home School Family

Proverbs 30:15-16 states there are four things that are never satisfied.
We might add a fifth - the family budget! Christian families, and home
school families in particular, face unique financial challenges that place
even greater stress on their paychecks. This workshop addresses these
challenges and teaches you how to manage your household resources more
effectively and plan for the future. It is not a dry "numbers" class for
accountants but rather a fun and easy-to-understand presentation on
practical financial stewardship.
Practical Finances for the
Christian Family
As Christians, how do we practically
handle money in a world where we “cannot serve God and riches?” This
in-depth series of financial workshops addresses this fundamental question
and provides practical advice. You will be challenged and taught how to
manage household resources more effectively and plan for the future from a
biblical perspective. Topics include establishing a biblical foundation
for money,
setting goals and priorities, budgeting, retirement planning, education
planning, investment strategies, taxes, estate issues, insurance, and
debt. This is not a dry “numbers” class for accountants but rather a
fun and easy-to-understand presentation on practical financial
stewardship.
Personal Finances During
Career Transitions
At some point during our careers, we are very likely to quit, be laid off,
or fired from at least one job. No matter the circumstances, this can
cause a great deal of anxiety and despair even for those who are prepared
financially. But what if we're not prepared financially? This workshop is geared toward those
who currently find themselves out of work and wondering how to handle
their finances while looking for a new job. It’s not as simple as just
tightening the belt and weathering the storm. There are multiple issues to
contend with in addition to handling a budget. We will examine specific
budgeting techniques to stretch every dollar, pinpoint changes in spending
habits, highlight sources of funds to meet immediate cash needs, learn how
to handle creditors, and review health insurance, retirement plan, and
pension plan issues and options.
"For he delivered us
from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the
kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the
forgiveness of sins." Colossians
